Geo. W. Hughes “Ajusto” Collection

Four vintage “Ajusto” broad-edge nibs, cut left oblique, in broad, medium, fine and extra fine.

The “Ajusto” was one of a whole series of Geo. W. Hughes pens that caught the attention of the well-known calligrapher Alfred Fairbank. It is a broad-edge nib, and a rigid one.

These four are cut left oblique and carry Hughes’s “Registered” mark. Together they give the same nib in four widths, from broad to extra fine.

Hughes made his pens for buyers who ordered by the gross and expected every nib to match the last. Each nib in this set has been checked from the archive.

This is a small set, limited by what the archive holds of each width. Once gone, it won’t return in the same form.
