I've been using a LINEX 1001 for years but it was getting a bit bendy so I bought this new one. It's stronger but I find it a bit small so rather fiddly to use. I expect I'll get better with practice!

I would highly recommend this lining device. It’s so quick and easy to use, takes the effort out of lining up. And the 55 degree angle line is a bonus! Wonderful bit of kit, wouldn’t be without it especially for copperplate.

When I purchased this I did have a doubt about value for money. I soon got comfortable using the triangle and have found it to be very useful and versatile. I practice both calligraphy and penmanship. I use relatively small letters for penmanship and I like to have a small gap between my sets of guides so that descenders and ascenders do not clash. I found that by making the first ruled line and then adding three lines at 3mm I could then move to the second hole in the 5mm spaced hole and rule a perfect narrow spacing line. I could the reset the ruler and repeat the process. Discovering this technique is a massive bonus for me, so I’m very pleased with the triangle. So for my purposes it represents great value for money.
