Three vintage Waverley nibs, the turned-up tip designed to write with the smoothness of a quill.

The Waverley was Duncan Cameron's answer to a problem every nib faces: an ordinary point meets the paper edge-first, catching on the upstroke. His solution, patented in 1870 for Macniven & Cameron of Edinburgh, was a narrow-waisted nib with the tip turned up so a rounded point met the paper instead.

It became one of the best-known nibs of its era, memorable enough to earn its own line on the box: "They come as a boon and a blessing to men, the Pickwick, the Owl and the Waverley Pen."

Each nib in this set has been checked from the archive and carries the Birmingham manufacturing mark.

Included in this set:

Waverley Pen - Birmingham (x3)
