Glues and Gums

Gum arabic is the binder in most inks and paints, and a drop of it adjusts flow and adds a little sheen. Gum sandarac is dusted onto paper to sharpen the edges of your strokes and stop ink spreading. Gum ammoniac is a gilding size, laid down so gold leaf has something to stick to.

Alongside those you will find drawing gum for masking areas you want to keep clear, and a glue stick for general paper work.
