The Speedball C2 has a square-cut edge that makes a broad stroke 2.7mm wide. Speedball describe the C range as made to emulate the quill, for styles like Foundational, Italic, Uncial and Blackletter.

The C2 has a fixed reservoir on top and is for right-handed calligraphers. It fits a standard straight holder, including the Speedball Pen Holder. The left-handed version is the LC2.

I have purchased this particular nib for my 13 year old nephew who wanted me to help him write a piece in the Gothic Black Letter script. The nib is large enough for a beginner to begin to understand the “picket fence” letter forms. Weight of stroke, and pen angle.
