The Speedball A3 has a square tip that makes a broad, square-edged stroke 1.8mm wide. Speedball call it a dual purpose nib: flip it over and the same nib makes a fine line.
The squared tip suits Gothic or monoline lettering with lines of uniform width and a squared finish. The A3 has a fixed reservoir on top and fits a standard straight holder, including the Speedball Pen Holder.
